I’ve lived in Denver most of my life and have visited quite a few of these pumpkin patches myself.

Read on for some of the best pumpkin patches near Denver.

Note: Keep in mind, all pumpkin patches on this list get very busy. If possible, visit early in the morning or on week days. Before heading out, be sure to double check whether or not reservations are required.

Best Pumpkin Patches Near Denver

Chatfield Farms Pumpkin Festival

Location: Littleton
Distance from downtown Denver: 19 miles (approx. 30 minutes)
2025 Dates: Pumpkin Festival October 10-12 (pumpkin patch open select dates in October)

One of the most popular pumpkin patches and fall festivals in Denver is the Chatfield Farms Pumpkin Festival, hosted by the Denver Botanic Gardens.

This is a hugely popular event with tons of stuff to do.

Adults, get lost in the corn maze, browse local craft and artisan booths, grab a beer or hard cider, and a bite from one of the many food trucks.

Kids will love the children’s activities like inflatable bouncers, slides, obstacle course, mini corn maze, and face painting.

The whole family will love the hayrides, photo booths, live music, and antique tractor exhibit. And of course, don’t forget to browse the 10-acre pumpkin patch for your perfect pumpkin.

This event is very large, there are multiple parking lots, and there is no cell service on site. If meeting someone here, plan a meeting point in advance. 

Even if you’re not able to attend the event, the pumpkin patch and corn maze is open throughout the fall season.

Rocky Mountain Pumpkin Ranch 

Location: Longmont
Distance from downtown Denver: 45 miles (approx. 50 minutes)
2025 Dates: September 27 – October 31, Friday – Sunday

Rocky Mountain Pumpkin Ranch, family owned and operated since 1993, is a great pumpkin patch near Denver.

The pumpkin patch is open daily during the month of October, but only weekends offer carnival events.

Weekend visitors, expect fun attractions like hay maze, obstacle course, pony rides, and pumpkin painting. Week day visitors can still access the pumpkin patch, farm stand, and a few activities. All produce is Colorado sourced and 100% organic. 

There’s no admission but fees apply for certain activities.

Maize In The City

Location: Thornton
Distance from downtown Denver: 15 miles (approx. 20 minutes)
2025 Dates: September 20 – October 31st, weekends only, with extra dates as Halloween approaches.

Maize In The City is one of the closest to Denver, and a great option for those seeking the perfect pumpkin.

On site attractions include the crazed corn maze, kids mini maze, bouncers, barrel train, mini escape room, corn bin, petting zoo, face painting, and more.

Plus the large pumpkin field with 15 varieties of pumpkins and gourds. They also sell other items like straw bales, cornstalks, Indian corn, and carving kits.

Best of all, admission is free. Games, entertainment, and attractions are available for an extra fee. 

This is great for those without young kids, who don’t want to pay admission for entertainment they won’t utilize.  

Cottonwood Farms

Location: Lafayette
Distance from downtown Denver: 25 miles (approx. 35 minutes)

This family farm is located just east of Boulder, with a focus on the harvest and showcasing farm life.

They sell pumpkins, winter squash, and fall decor. Attractions here, in addition to the pumpkin patch, are the corn maze, straw bale maze, hayrides, farm animals, wagon rides, and tractors and farm equipment. It’s a great place to bring the whole family.

Again, this is another pumpkin patch which has very low admission, those who wish to participate in extras can pay to do so. 

Anderson Farms

Location: Erie
Distance from downtown Denver: 30 miles (approx. 35 minutes)
2025 Dates: September 24 – November 1, closed Tuesdays

Anderson Farms is one of the best pumpkin patches near Denver. The fall vibes here are unmatched. They offer wide range of family-friendly activities and attractions, in addition to the pumpkin patch.

Included in admission is the corn maze, wagon ride to the pumpkin patch, pedal karts, pumpkin cannon, wooden train, large fire pit, and lots of fun for the kids. Tickets are limited, plan accordingly.

They have more attractions for an additional charge, like pony rides, pumpkin painting, paint ball shooting, face painting, and private campfire sites.

Last, after dark they have Terror in the Corn, which regularly receives awards for being among the top haunted houses in Denver. Terror In The Corn is a very popular event which requires a separate ticket. 

Admission for Anderson Farms is on the higher end, compared to other pumpkin patches near Denver, but you do get a lot with admission and could easily spend hours here. 

Munson Farms 

Location: Boulder
Distance from downtown Denver: 30 miles (approx. 35 minutes)
2025 Dates: Mid September – October 31

Munson Farm is a classic pumpkin patch and farm stand. They offer a variety of summer produce into the fall season, in addition to pumpkins and other winter squash. 

They have a corn maze, hay rides, and a few kid activities, plus lots of photo ops. But the produce and farm stand is the star of the show here.

Munson Farm has free admission and pumpkins are charged by the pound.

Mazzotti Farms

Location: Hudson
Distance from downtown Denver: 35 miles (approx. 40 minutes)
2025 Dates: Saturdays & Sundays throughout October.

Mazzotti Farms is another family-owned farm, in business since 1982, located near Denver.

During weekends in October they offer a scare-free corn maze, u-pick pumpkin patch, petting zoo, farm-themed games, and lots of photo opportunities.

A perfect addition to a day spent pumpkin picking!

Most activities are included in the admission price, as well as one pumpkin picked off the vine. While here, you can also build your own scarecrow to take home and browse their fresh produce.  

Miller Farms

Location: Platteville
Distance from downtown Denver: 40 miles (approx. 40 minutes)

For a real working farm experience, you’ll want to head to Miller Farms, directly north of Denver.

Not only can you pick your own pumpkin at Miller Farm’s Fall Harvest Festival, but you can also harvest their wide variety of veggies.

Tractor and hayrides take you across the farm’s 180 acres where you can pick your own vegetables.

Upon paying admission, you’ll receive a bag, which you can fill with as much produce as you’d like. You’ll also have access to the corn field maze, hay pyramid, and kids play areas, plus photo spots and antique tractors.

They do also have a roadside stand for those who prefer already-picked produce. At the farm stand you can also buy fresh roasted chilies, treats, and drinks. 

Fritzler Farm Park Fall Festival

Location: La Salle
Distance from downtown Denver: 45 miles (approx. 55 minutes)

Fall Days at Frizler Farm Park is always very popular. There are so many attractions here in addition to their pumpkin patch. Let the kids play on the inflatable obstacle course, pedal go-karts, and play carnival games.

All ages will love the photo-worthy pumpkin house, pumpkin cannon, and famous corn maze.

Their elaborate corn maze designs are next level, and reason enough to visit. If you’re dying for a good corn maze, this is one of the best in Colorado. 

They also have Scream Acres, which is their haunted corn maze. This one is requires a separate fee. 

Visitors can also enjoy carnival food, and drinks in the beer garden. They even have fireworks on select Friday nights.

This is one of the pricier pumpkin patches. But as you can see, there’s tons of stuff to do, and most attractions are included with admission.

Rock Creek Farm 

Location: Broomfield
Distance from downtown Denver: 20 miles (approx. 25 minutes)

Rock Creek Farm has a farm stand like set up, where you can buy pumpkins, gourds, baked goods, and fall decorations. Additionally, they have a large play area for kids with a hay bale maze, tractors, farm animals, and picnic benches.

On top of that they have u-pick pumpkins, which I think is their best feature. The pumpkins are spread across multiple fields, so you’ve got tons of options, just wear comfortable clothing and be ready for walking.

Admission is free on Wednesday’s. The cost of the pumpkins are separate from the admission fee.

Hankins Farm

Location: Johnstown
Distance from downtown Denver: 50 miles (approx. 55 minutes)
2025 Dates: October 3 – October 19, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, and Saturday November 1.

Hankins Farms is family owned and operated since 1910.

Each fall they host their corn maze and pumpkin patch on a quiet plot of land just southeast of Fort Collins.

They’ve got lots of fun activities like a zombie shoot game, scavenger hunt, kids play area, and multiple corn mazes.

Most activities are included with admission, and they do offer discounts for larger groups.

Mile High Farms Fall Festival 

Location: Bennett
Distance from downtown Denver: 30 miles (approx. 35 minutes)

Mile High Farms Fall Festival has been a much-loved pumpkin patch near Denver for almost 15 years now.

In addition to a pumpkin patch, they have two elaborate corn mazes over 11 acres, barrel cart rides, a petting zoo, antique tractor hayride, and corn pits. Plus of course, a playground, entertainment, food and drinks.

All attractions are included in admission, and they sell pumpkins, straw bales, and corn stalk bundles.

Mile High Farms feels far from the city, but is just 30 minutes away, making this a great option near town.

Pumpkin Patches In The City

Nick’s Fall Fest

Location: Aurora
Distance from downtown Denver: 20 miles (approx. 255 minutes)

Nick’s Garden Center & Farm Market is a beloved plant shop and greenhouse in Aurora.

In autumn they transform part of their massive lot into a pumpkin patch, complete with all the fall goods.

They have many free attractions like a straw maze, kids play area, kids story time, and games. They also have a few paid attractions like a tractor ride, pedal karts, and inflatable obstacle course.

This is an urban garden center, so you’ll get all the fall vibes, right in the city.

Admission is free.

Spano’s Fresh Produce

Location: Denver
Distance from downtown Denver: 9 miles (approx. 15 minutes)

This is a really small pumpkin patch and doesn’t have all the fall attractions that most on this list do do. But if you simply want to pick your own pumpkin in Denver, without all the hoopla, this is the spot.

They also have excellent produce grown on site, all 100% organic. Plan to pick up some fresh goods while stopping by the pumpkin patch. 

Tips For Visiting Pumpkin Patches Near Denver

Below are a few tips for visiting pumpkin patches near Denver:

• Each of these pumpkin patches can get very crowded during peak times, especially weekends. If possible, visit during the week.
• If visiting during the week is not possible, plan to arrive at the pumpkin patch upon opening. Also consider visiting earlier in the season. The last two weekends before Halloween are typically the busiest. If none of this is possible, pack your patience.
• Before heading out, double check whether or not reservations are required.
• Some pumpkin patches offer discounts for large groups, or for those who purchase tickets online in advance.
• Remember, this time of year sees large temperature swings. Expect warm days, with chilly mornings and evenings. It’s best to dress in layers.
• Last, many of these farms and garden centers are often open year-round. Stop by during summer for fresh produce or find them at a local farmers market. Additionally, many of these farms open again in a few weeks for Christmas tree season. Consider supporting your local farms and garden centers year-round.
