Love to Travel?
Me too. I’m Amy — I travel a lot, but in a normal, real-life way, with an average budget, a long bucket list, and only so many days to see it all.
If that sounds like you, you’ll find detailed travel guides, itineraries, and practical tips here to help you plan trips that feel inspiring and actually doable — from destinations across the U.S. and around the world.

Hey there!
Welcome to Seen By Amy
I’m Amy Thomas, and as you can guess, the contents of this blog are seen by me.
I’ve lived in Denver, Chicago, The Hamptons, Salt Lake City, and Phoenix. I’ve visited all 50 states and traveled in nearly 20 countries. I enjoy writing about places I’ve lived and the many incredible destinations I’ve visited worldwide.
Planning trips and helping others to plan their getaways, whether a special vacation or a quick weekend away, are passions of mine.

Summer is peak season for America’s national parks, and while they’re popular for a reason, they also come with crowds, traffic, and sold-out lodging. If you’re looking for a quieter alternative, don’t overlook our national monuments.
Dinosaur National Monument is managed by the National Park Service just like a national park, but it sees only a fraction of the visitors. You can see hundreds of real dinosaur fossils still embedded in the rock, drive scenic canyon roads, hike to overlooks, raft the Green and Yampa Rivers, and spot wildlife — all without the crowds.
