Watch Fireworks After a Colorado Rockies Game

One of the most iconic ways to celebrate Independence Day in Denver is by heading to a Colorado Rockies game. The Rockies often play at home over Fourth of July weekend, and select games end with an impressive postgame fireworks show.

Select seats get to go down to the field to watch the firework show, typically ticket holders in Sections 148 through 160, the Left Field Bleachers, and the Rockpile. This is a really cool experience, so these seats sell out quickly.

No matter where you’re sitting and even if you’re not a huge baseball fan, this is a fun way to spend a summer evening. Grab dinner in LoDo before first pitch, enjoy the game, then stick around for the fireworks.

Attend 4thFest At Dick’s Sporting Goods Park

If you’re looking for a fun celebration, 4thFest is one of the largest Independence Day events in the Denver metro area.

The event is typically held before a soccer game and includes family activities, food vendors, live entertainment, and a large fireworks show following the game. The event changes slightly from year to year, but it’s consistently one of the area’s biggest Fourth of July celebrations.

This year, 4thFest is also partnering with the inaugural World Rugby Nations Cup. Fans can purchase tickets to watch Tonga take on Zimbabwe, followed by Team USA versus Portugal, before sticking around for the professional fireworks show immediately after the matches.

Independence Eve Celebration (Indy Eve At Civic Center Park)

Denver’s biggest Independence Day tradition actually takes place the night before the Fourth. Indy Eve is held on July 3 and features a huge night market with food and retail vendors, a free performance by the Colorado Symphony, and a spectacular drone show over the state capitol building.

2026 Update: Indy Eve is temporarily suspended while Civic Center Park undergoes renovations. Instead, the Colorado Symphony is hosting its own free concert on July 3, while Denver’s July 3rd drone show is taking place at Sculpture Park. Once construction is complete in 2027, Indy Eve is likely to return to Civic Center Park.

Visit The Cherry Creek Arts Festival

The Cherry Creek Arts Festival is another popular Fourth of July weekend tradition in Denver.

This free event features hundreds of artists from around the country along with live music, food vendors, and interactive art demonstrations. Even if you’re not planning to buy anything, it’s a fun way to spend a few hours browsing the booths before heading out for evening festivities.
