Top 9 Hotels Near Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is a gorgeous and seriously underrated park in southwest Colorado. The park is divided into two sections, South Rim and North Rim, both of which are separated by a two hour drive.

South Rim is located just a few minutes from Montrose, a fairly large city in this region. Whereas the North Rim is more remote, with its nearest town being Crawford, home to less than 500 residents.

Most park visitors stick to the South Rim, but the North is gorgeous as well and certainly worth the trek.

Planning a visit to either (or both!) and wondering where to stay? There are no hotels in the park, but plenty of great options nearby. Tucked away between Montrose and Ridgway is the beautiful Double G Ranch. Its quiet serenity is not to be confused with lack of accessibility, as the ranch is only about 40-50 minutes from Montrose and Black Canyon of the Gunnison’s South Rim. 

There are four different suite options here, all with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Each room includes standard amenities such as a private bathroom, coffee maker, and WiFi, with additional features in some rooms such as a fireplace, kitchenette, game room, or balcony. 

The property owners are German, and not only provide a free breakfast buffet, but also serve up a blend of German and American cuisine for dinner at an additional cost.

Finally, it should be noted that there are a variety of animals at the ranch, from cats to horses! That being said, the hotel is not pet-friendly, excluding those trained for patrons with disabilities. Parking on-site is included with your stay.

Another lodging option centrally located in Crawford is Stone House Inn.
