Strawberry Park Natural Hot Springs is one of the most popular attractions in Steamboat Springs, and a must-visit hot spring in the state of Colorado.

No matter the season, the springs attract thousands of visitors from around the country.

Strawberry Hot Springs offers a series of cascading mineral pools which blend perfectly with the surrounding spruce trees and aspens. The landscaping and architecture fit flawlessly among nature’s delightful creation.

What To Know About Visiting Strawberry Hot Springs

Strawberry Hot Springs Hours

The hot springs are open every day of the year, normally from 10 am to 10 pm.

Holiday or seasonal hours vary.

Hot Springs Admission

The hot springs are $20 per person for a 2 hour time slot.

Towels are an added charge of $5, or you can bring your own.

Strawberry Hot Springs is cash only. There’s no ATM on-site.

Do You Need Reservations?

Yes, reservations are required, walk ups are not allowed at this time.

Reservations can be made at Strawberry Hot Springs. Payment is collected upon arrival.

Important Note: If the total number of visitors changes from the time you made you made your reservation (i.e. you made a reservation for 4 but someone backed out last minute), you need to email Strawberry Hot Springs before arrival to avoid being charged for the unused time slot.

Reservations are not required for those who book through a shuttle service.

How To Get To Strawberry Park Natural Hot Springs

Strawberry Hot Springs is about a 15-20 minute drive from downtown Steamboat Springs.

The final two miles are on a steep and winding unpaved road. The road is well maintained and drivable in any vehicle during the summer months.

If you’re planning a visit during the winter months, a 4×4 vehicle is required to make the drive.

If you’re not comfortable mountain driving in snow, or don’t have the proper vehicle, use a shuttle service.

There is a large, free parking lot on site.

Strawberry Hot Springs Shuttle

There are two Strawberry Hot Springs shuttles available. Booking a shuttle covers both transportation and admission costs.

They’re a bit pricey but absolutely worth it, especially if visiting in winter, when the drive to the springs can be difficult.

Strawberry Hot Springs Facilities

The springs are spacious and offer simple but modern amenities.

They have updated restrooms, a heated changing area, and offer massages in private huts.

Expect all the perks of human editions, without taking away from, or trying to compete with the site’s natural beauty.

How Hot Are Strawberry Hot Springs?

The pools are typically no cooler than 102°F.

Can You Bring Your Pets?

Unfortunately, no.

Can You Bring Food & Drink? 

No outside food or drink except water. 

Is Swimwear Required At Strawberry Hot Springs?

Nude or swimwear required? When researching hot springs, this is an important question to ask.

These hot springs are swimwear by day and clothing optional by night. No kids are allowed at the hot springs at night.

Don’t shy away from visiting the springs at night, you can wear whatever you’re comfortable with.

Since the springs are nestled into a mountainside, over a hundred miles from a major city, it’s extremely dark… So you can’t see anybody’s full moon.

Not to mention, the stargazing here is epic.

Bring a flashlight or headlamp to help get settled in upon arrival. Just be respectful and don’t shine your light towards visitors in the springs.

Strawberry Hot Springs Lodging

Strawberry Hot Springs does offer lodging in the form of rustic cabins, a covered wagon, and even a train caboose.

Think of the lodging more as glamping, there’s no electricity or running water aside from the shared bathhouse.

There are also tent camp sites available by reservation.

Be aware, the lodging is very limited and books out far in advance, even for tent sites.

Where To Stay Near Strawberry Hot Springs

If the caboose isn’t available, there’s no need to worry.

The springs are located 7 miles from Steamboat Springs, which offers a wide variety of hotels, rentals, and summer camping options.
